Yanchep National Park is only 45 minutes north of Perth, making it one of the easiest ways to experience Western Australia’s natural highlights.
The park attracts over 240,000 visitors each year and is one of the best places to see western grey kangaroos as they frequently graze on the walk trails or on the picnic lawns and golf course.
The 240 metre long koala boardwalk provides unencumbered views of the koalas that live in the trees of the koala sanctuary.
The park is one of Western Australia’s oldest national parks and is home to a network of limestone caves, including Cabaret, Mambibby, Yanchep, Yonderup and Crystal. The caves at Yanchep were formed by underground streams, which flowed westward from the Gnangara Mound. Visitors can take part in a guided tour of Crystal Cave.
Yanchep National Park provides visitors with the opportunity to participate in a range of Aboriginal cultural activities that are held in custom-built performance areas. These include Wangi Mia the main, semi-enclosed performance area and Balga Mia, which is an open air performance space.
Yanchep National Park is easily accessible and there is plenty to do with BBQ and picnic facilities, row boat hire, scenic walk trails and the opportunity to take part in an Aboriginal cultural experience.
Visit the McNess Visitor Centre for tour bookings, experience the hospitality of the historic Yanchep Inn or be tempted by the coffee and chocolates at Chocolate Drops.
