The area is just a 45 minute drive from Perth city and boasts one of Australia’s oldest conservation areas and Western Australia’s first national park – John Forrest National Park.

- Mundaring Arts Centre – one of the Western Australia’s largest community arts centres with a focus on local.
- The Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail – on 24 January 1903, water from Mundaring Weir flowed into Mount Charlotte Reservoir in Kalgoorlie. Today water is supplied to over 100,000 people and covers 44,000 kilometres.
- The world famous 1000 kilometre Bibbulmun Track starts in Kalamunda and the Munda Biddi bike trail begins in Mundaring.
- The Perth Hills National Park Centre hosts the ‘Nearer to Nature’ programme.
