The Bibbulmun Track is fast gaining international recognition as one of the world’s best long distance walking tracks.
The Bibbulmun track was opened in 1979 and was named after the Aboriginal people who lived in the area that the track covers. The name of the track recognises the Bibbulmun people’s practice of walking long distances for ceremonial gatherings.
The track takes walkers through some stunning and awe inspiring scenery, from karri and tingle forests to coastal heath lands. It passes through Dwellingup, Collie, Balingup, Donnelly River Village, Pemberton, Northcliffe, Walpole, Peaceful Bay and Denmark.
Walkers can experience the Bibbulmun Track in a number of ways: via a series of day walks, an eight week adventure trek, or in a guided group. Accommodation options include camping on the track or staying in the towns along the route.
Location: the Bibbulmun Track extends 1000 kilometres from Kalamunda on the outskirts of Perth, to Albany on the south coast of Western Australia.
