Wine and Food in Australia's South West

The south west of Western Australia is home to world renowned wine and fresh local produce and is a haven for food and wine enthusiasts.

Explore the region and discover what it has to offer from the farm gate including: fruit, vegetables, seasonal berries, marron and trout. The area is also home to locally grown truffles, locally made chocolates, cheese, beer and cider.

The region plays host to award winning chefs, restaurants and cafes. Discover the best of what the area has to offer and indulge in an unparalleled gourmet experience.

The Mediterranean climate and rich fertile soils of the south west of Western Australia combine to provide the perfect environment for vine growth. The climate and environment supports the production of a variety of grapes and wine styles: from complex cabernets to stylish chardonnays.

The area is responsible for the production of 26% of Australia’s premium wine, though it yields only 5% of the country’s total wine production. The Margaret River wine region is one of the best known in Australia and throughout the world.

The area is also home to the Pemberton, Manjimup, Geographe, Blackwood Valley and Great Southern wine producing regions.
