Surfing - Western Australia

Western Australia is home to some of the world’s best and most renowned surfing hotspots.

The Indian Ocean consistently provides high quality surf in an ocean environment that is one of the cleanest and most temperate on earth.

Trigg, Cottesloe and Scarborough beaches provide some of the best surf that the city of Perth has to offer.

Further out, Rottnest Island and the infamous Strickland Bay provide reef breaks in an undisturbed and idyllic location.

The Margaret River region is the undisputed capital of surfing in Western Australia. Surfers from all over the world head to Margaret River to surf and to compete in annual events such as the Margaret River Drug Aware Pro presented by O'Neill, the Yallingup Malibu Classic and the Margaret River Surf Classic.

Surf hotspots of the region include South Point, North Point at Gracetown, the Margaret River Main Break, Yallingup Beach, Smith’s Beach, Redgate Beach and Injidup Point.

Head to the north west of the State and check out Jake’s Point in Kalbarri, the Bluff in Geraldton and Yardie Creek near Exmouth.

The surfs are great here in WA. While I am not a surfer, I do take time to admire the speed and the strength of both waves and man. Best surf's I've seen are at City Beach, Redgate beach (Margaret River) and Bas Bay (Margaret River).

these are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Were lucky to have them right in our backyard..the white sand, clear waters and great waves makes each place a must see and do destination!
