The Golden Quest Discovery Trail is a 965 kilometre adventure self-drive through one of the world’s most famous gold producing regions.
The drive incorporates the towns of Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Menzies, Kookynie, Gwalia, Leonora and Laverton. The trail is enhanced by a comprehensive guidebook that comes with an audio commentary on two compact discs. There are 25 official sites on the trail and each is explained via audio commentary. The guidebook includes maps, information on distances and safety guidelines. It is available at bookshops and visitor centres in the Goldfields region.
The trail provides visitors with an historic, social and economic insight into the impact of gold on the Goldfields region, as well its impact on Western Australia. The Golden Quest Discovery Trail takes visitors on a journey through a landscape that is rich with stories and the ghosts of an infamous past. This is an adventure that combines incredible feats of architecture and engineering, natural history and Aboriginal heritage.
