Covering over 50,000 hectares, the Cape Range National Park comprises canyons of breathtaking proportions, limestone ranges and 50 kilometres of pristine beaches.
The impressive weathered limestone of the Cape Range includes plateaus of up to 314 metres high. The range forms the spine of the peninsula that extends towards North West Cape in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.
Mangrove Bay is eight kilometres north of the Milyering Visitor Centre on the Yardie Creek Road. Take advantage of the bird hide that overlooks a shallow lagoon 100 metres along a boardwalk from the car park and study a variety of birds. There is also a fauna hide 500 metres from the car park that provides the opportunity to view kangaroos, emus and galahs close up. Best viewing times are early morning and late afternoon.
Mandu Mandu Gorge is 15 kilometres south of the Milyering Visitor Centre on the Yardie Creek Road. Entry to Mandu Mandu Gorge is via a three kilometre walking trail that follows the northern ridge of the gorge and provides spectacular views.
Yardie Creek is located 38 kilometres south of the Milyering Visitors Centre on the Yardie Creek Road. Explore the splendour and colour of the gorge via walking trails or take a cruise.
Charles Knife Canyon – gravel roads and a walking trail follow the razor-backed ridges of the range, providing breathtaking views.
